Manfrotto 035RL Super Clamp with Delvcam 22 inch Flexible Arm

I purchased the Manfrotto Super Clamp along with the Delvcam 22 inch Flexible Arm and have gotten a lot of use out of them since.  It is great for mounting a camera in places you wouldn't normally be able to place a camera.  It it very strong, capable of holding a lot of weight, and has many accessories to expand in the future.  I will definitely purchase one or two more Super Clamps in the future.  Here is a sample video of a GoPro attached to a airplane tow bar using the Super Clamp.

Theresa & Tim - All Souls Chapel Sanford FL

Theresa and Tim were married at the All Souls Catholic Chapel in Sanford Florida.  The sanctuary had great lighting spilling in through the windows and had a balcony, which allowed for an excellent secondary wide camera angle.  It was a gorgeous day, with deep blue skies and hardly any clouds in sight.  Below is a still image taken from the video just after being pronounced husband and wife.

Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM Wide-Angle Autofocus Lens

We recently flew to Memphis for a Motive Learning video shoot at the airport.  For the interviews the lens of choice was the Canon 35mm 1.4.  What an amazing lens!  It is everything it's cracked up to be.  Very sharp all the way to the corners.  I still want to do more in depth comparisons to the Sigma 30mm 1.4, but so far the Canon looks sharper throughout the whole frame.  The Sigma has a slight blur/vignette look on the edges, which I really like, but something like that could easily be done in post if you're using the Canon.  I highly recommend this lens!

Jessica & Steve - Cypress Grove Orlando FL

Our very good friends, Jessica and Steve, were married at the elegant Cypress Grove Estate House in Orlando, Florida.  The southern style Estate House sits next to Lake Jessamine at the end of Cypress Grove Park.  Click here for more info on their website.  We attended the wedding as guests, and shot and edited the video for them.  It was a beautiful day!  We had a great time capturing and editing all of the footage.  We used a mixture of traditional camcorders, a DSLR, and a GoPro.  At this wedding worked with our favorite DJs, Waylon and Andrea with Blue Skies Entertainment (321-536-5973).  They are a husband and wife team (like us) and they do an excellent job!  Video recap coming soon...

Canon VIXIA HF M500 Full HD Camcorder

We purchased the Canon M500 for family use and love it.  The image quality is so good that I've used it as a 3rd and 4th camera angle at multiple weddings!  I chose this model because it has Canon's Pro HD CMOS sensor.  It's the same sensor that's in the popular Canon XA10.  The lenses are different and some of the manual features are stripped out of the M500, but overall it is an excellent camcorder and I am very happy with it. It especially performs well in low light, which is something I was particularly looking for.  It also does a great job with image stabilization, which is a must since the camera is very small and light weight.  The only negative I can say about the camera is I wish the battery lasted longer.  I purchased the largest battery I could find and it only gives about 3 hours of operation.  I would like to see something in the neighborhood of 5 hours or more.  Below is a link the BH Photo website to view price and specs.  Also, there is a very short sample video to show the quality of the video produced by the M500, compared to the Canon XA10.  The first angle of the groom is the XA10, then the next angle on the bride is the M500.  Be sure to view in HD to view best comparison.

Whitney & Avery - The Ballroom Downtown Orlando FL

Whitney and Avery held their destination wedding at The Ballroom at Church Street in downtown Orlando, Florida.  The venue is located next to the train tracks and is a beautiful, unique place to be married.  They held the ceremony in between the two grand staircases of the lobby area and celebrated the reception on the second floor.  I shot this wedding using one DSLR camera, a GoPro, and a traditional HD camcorder. At this wedding I worked with these great vendors The Ballroom at Church Street and Sivan Photography.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens

At our first wedding ceremony using a DSLR camera as the main video angle, I chose to use the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens, in addition with my normal Sigma 18-200mm.  The sharpness and low light capability of this lens was amazing!  I will definitely continue to use this lens when needing something more long range.  Below is a link to the BH Photo website for price and specs.

Sarah & Doug - Embassy Suites Altamonte Springs FL

Sarah and Doug were married at St. Paul's in Orlando near Altamonte Springs Florida. This was the first time that we used a DSLR as the main camera angle and it turned out great! What amazing video those DSLRs can produce! It was great to see old faces, as we did Sarah's brother's wedding in 2007. Her brother Sam and Melissa were married in Gainesville Fl. After the ceremony everyone headed up I-4 to Uptown Crane's Roost area to celebrate at Embassy Suites Orlando North Hotel. While their guests were mingling in the courtyard of the hotel, the photographer and I got some great shots on the boardwalk by the water.  I worked with these great vendors: Jay with Liquid Entertainment, Chuck and Julia Rang with St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, and Embassy Suites North in Altamonte Springs.

Newark Airport Training Video Production

I traveled to Newark International Airport with Motive Learning to shoot training video of employees telling stories of how they made improvements to their every day work processes by simply speaking up to their superiors and making suggestions.  We had a great time hearing what they did.  Everything was shot DSLR with a Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens..

We also had time to make it into the city and watch Spiderman on Broadway.  Awesome show!

Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG

I bought two of these backpacks so I could reduce the load of equipment I have to carry to events.  I love them so far and would recommend them.  Just FYI, they are a little smaller than I thought they'd be, but do fit quite a bit of equipment.  After revamping my arsenal to much smaller and tapeless camcorders, I am able to fit 2 camcorders and a DSLR in one backpack and all of my audio and lights into another.  Although, if I get another lens, I'm thinking about buying a third one to carry all DSLR related equipment.  Below is a link to B&H for price and specs.

Sigma 30mm 1.4 Lens

This lens is by far one of my new favorites.  It is reasonably priced compared to the Canon 35mm 1.4 (about 1/3 the cost) and performs very well.  It might not be quite as fast or sharp to the edges as the Canon, but I think it has a nice look (slightly blurred near the corners).  It's just something to be aware of it before using.  I also like the extra "real estate" you get compared to the 35mm, especially when using a cropped sensor.  I know it's not much, but can help when you're in tight spaces.  Below is a link to B&H for price and specs.

Joyce & David - Renaissance Sea World Orlando FL

Joyce and David held their wedding and reception at the Renaissance Hotel in Orlando, Florida, which is located across the street from Sea World. With hundreds of guests attending, the ceremony was inside one of the grand ballrooms. The reception followed shortly after.  This wedding was a referral from a wedding we did in 2007.  At this wedding we worked with these great vendors: Guillermo with Guess Photography and Senior Event Planner, Richie with the Renaissance Sea World Hotel

Kristin & Eric - The Kampong Coconut Grove FL

Our very good friends Kristin and Eric were married at the beautiful, lush Kampong, National Tropical Botanical Garden, in Coconut Grove, Florida.  We attended the wedding as guests, but edited the video footage for them as our gift to the bride and groom.  We had a great time catching up with old and new friends.  Kristin and Eric were a beautiful couple and we wish them all the best.

Joanna & Gary - Derby Street Chapel and Courtyard Marriott

Joanna and Gary were married at the quaint Derby Street Chapel in historic Cocoa Village, Florida. All of the decorations were done by Joanna's mom. As the sun was setting, they were pronounced husband and wife. After the kiss, they quickly jumped into the limo and were taken to the Courtyard by Marriott in Cocoa Beach, Fl. The reception decor was equisite with up-lighting and grand crystal like center pieces. After they were introduced, they shared an unforgettable and emotional first dance, singing to each other throughout the whole song. At this wedding we worked with these great vendors: Indica with Indica Woodruff Photography, Jenny with Creative Events, and DJ Raf with DJ Shane Entertainment.

Also here's an interesting note...we learned that Joanna owns Buttons and Bows in Merritt Island, Fl. It is a very nice and successful baby consignment shop. My mother-in-law loves shopping there and always comments on the great deals they have.  Check it out if you have a chance!

Here's what they had to say about their video:

"Dear Bryce,  I just wanted  you to know that the video is amazing,  it is everything that I had hoped for and much more.  Words cannot express how happy we all are thank you so very very much.  This video will be a family keepsake for years to come." Sincerely, Janis, Dennis, Joanna and Gary

Zoom H2 audio field recorder

The H2 recorder has been one of the best purchases I've made.  It is reasonably priced and captures audio very well with various quality settings.  I now regularly use 2 H2s at almost every event.  It is a must have in my opinion.  I highly recommend any of the Zoom audio products: H1, H2, or H4.  Above is a sample video review of the portable audio field recorder.

Ikan iLED 144 On-Camera Bi-Color LED Light

I've been using this light for a few months now and really love it!  With the smallest of the Sony L series batteries, I can get 3 hours of continuous lighting, which is plenty for a reception, since I don't use it non-stop.  It's very cool to the touch, even after 3 hours of running.  The variable color temperature is a huge plus as well.  It also has adequate throw for it's price range.  I can light a subject fairly well from 30-40 feet away.  I would definitely recommend it to a friend.  Here's a link to B&H Photo for specs and price

Lara & Ross - Grand Plaza Hotel St Pete Beach FL

Lara and Ross held their destination wedding at the beautiful Gulf front Grand Plaza Hotel located on Saint Petersburg Beach, Florida. The bride and groom are from England, but currently reside in Spain. The ceremony took place on the beach, with the cocktail hour and reception following inside the penthouse ballroom. What an amazing view they had of the Gulf of Mexico from the top floor of the hotel! At this wedding we worked with these great vendors: Wes and Liz - Wes Weber Photography, Scott Anderson - acoustic guitarist, Marsha Marie Flowers - florist, and Cherish - wedding coordinator - Grand Plaza Hotel St. Pete Beach. Also, a special thanks goes out to Anthony at CCI for helping me capture some great shots. Here are just a few images captured from the day. Please note that video quality is reduced for the web.
